Job Description:

We are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Family Practice Billing and Coding Specialist to join our team. This role involves a range of duties, including translating medical procedures into codes, handling patient billing, and coordinating insurance reimbursements. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in family billing and coding and Medicare Advantage and be proficient in credentialing medical providers.

 

Responsibilities:

  • Review medical procedures as documented by doctors.
  • Translate medical procedures into codes for payers, other medical coders, and medical facilities.
  • Transmit coded patient treatment information to payers and other recipients.
  • Coordinate insurance reimbursements and handle patient billing efficiently.
  • Manage the reception of patient treatment codes for assembling reimbursement claims.
  • Create and transfer reimbursement claims to third-party payers.
  • Ensure accurate billing of patients for medical services.
  • Maintain an organized and detailed approach to managing patient files and documents.
  • Communicate effectively with patients and insurance carriers, upholding excellent phone etiquette.

Required Skills and Qualifications:

  • Proven experience in family medicine billing and coding.
  • Proficient in Medicare Advantage billing and coding.
  • Expertise in credentialing medical providers.
  • Excellent organizational and detail-oriented skills to ensure accuracy.
  • Strong discipline and the ability to work competitively.
  • Outstanding phone and communication skills.
