Johnson Service Group is looking to hire an Accountant for a contract manufacturing company in Carlsbad, CA.

Summary: This role ensures timely and precise financial information is provided to departmental management for comprehensive review of financial outcomes.

Primary Responsibilities:

Revenue Management:

  • Compile and organize data to generate various sales and related reports.
  • Prepare inter-company invoices by consolidating standard costing information.
  • Manage customer and inter-company transactions, including invoicing and sales opportunity approvals in Salesforce.
  • Maintain customer data files, including credit limits.

Accounts Receivable Oversight:

  • Monitor customer accounts receivable, conducting necessary collections.
  • Maintain detailed daily cash records and forecasts, contributing to weekly cash projections.
  • Generate accounts receivable collection status reports.
  • Record and reconcile incoming funds against customer accounts.
  • Conduct various reconciliations and tasks across multiple GL/AR reports.

Financial Closing Procedures:

  • Execute month-end transactions such as journal entries and account reconciliations.
  • Assist in compiling Management Reporting Packages for departmental management.

Capital Expenditure Management:

  • Monitor the fixed asset subsidiary system (FAS) and ensure compliance with SOX and internal control policies through monthly reconciliations.
  • Track fixed assets and capital expenditures, specifically tied to property locations.
  • Provide transaction details for departmental review, and prepare monthly and quarterly fixed asset roll-forwards.

Accounts Payable Support:

  • Aid the Accounts Payable team with sorting, filing, matching invoices, and facilitating weekly check runs.
  • Investigate and resolve un-invoiced receipts.
  • Collaborate with vendors and purchasing departments to resolve discrepancies.

Other Responsibilities:

  • Participate in financial audits to support audit readiness.
  • Draft procedures and assist with various accounting tasks as needed.
  • Undertake miscellaneous assignments and ad hoc projects as assigned.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Business, or equivalent experience.
  • Experience working with ERP systems.
  • Minimum of two years' experience in an accounting role encompassing invoicing, revenue recognition, accounts receivable, and general ledger.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities, with exceptional accuracy in data analysis and Excel proficiency.
  • Effective communication skills and the ability to collaborate across departments.
  • Excellent time management and organizational skills.
  • Commitment to maintaining confidentiality of sensitive company information.
