Position Summary: Performs tasks necessary to balance and update loans, shares, and certificates of deposit accounts, maintain and reconcile daily cash accounts, and performs other assigned accounting duties.


Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Prepare, pay, and file all accounts payable for the Excel Federal Credit Union (EFCU).
  • Research and resolve discrepancies.
  • Prepare and enter daily and monthly general ledger transactions.
  • Analyze and prepare reconciliations for various accounts as assigned.
  • Maintain knowledge and compliance with the EFCU’s policies and procedures.
  • Perform wire transfer services - initiation or verification.
  • Review and balance daily branch cash accounts. Research and resolve discrepancies.
  • Review and balance daily totals for loans, shares, and certificates of deposit between the general ledger and the operating system. Research and resolve discrepancies.
  • Review and balance daily totals for the credit card portfolios between the general ledger and credit card processor reports. Research and resolve discrepancies.
  • Prepare daily cash position analysis report.
  • Prepare, post, and balance daily ACH transaction downloads. Research and resolve discrepancies.
  • Prepare or assist with the preparation of the month-end financial statement packages including consolidated and unconsolidated financial statements.
  • Assist in audits of the credit union’s records by examiners and the external CPA firm.
  • Provide support to other employees, and other management as necessary.
  • Carry out other duties and assignments as may be requested.

  • Strong Excel skills and Windows-based finance system knowledge
  • Proven ability to concurrently perform multiple assignments and manage projects on strict deadlines under pressure
  • Must be able to maintain confidential information
  • Maintain flexibility in the work schedule to support events as needed

Qualifications and Education Requirements:

  • High level of accounting training, associate degree, and higher
  • Two to three years of accounting or finance experience
  • Two to three years of banking experience
