We are seeking an experienced Controller with 5-10 years of experience in financial management, specializing in healthcare finance within the homecare community services sector. Proven track record of overseeing financial operations, managing revenue cycles, and ensuring compliance with GAAP and healthcare regulations. Adept at working directly with senior leadership and providing strategic financial guidance. to join our team in New York City, NY.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Oversee and manage all aspects of the company’s financial operations, including budgeting, forecasting, and financial reporting.
  • Collaborate directly with the owner to develop and implement financial strategies that align with the company's goals and objectives.
  • Prepare and analyze financial statements, ensuring accuracy and compliance with regulatory requirements.
  • Manage accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll, and general ledger functions.
  • Conduct financial analysis to identify trends, variances, and opportunities for cost savings and efficiency improvements.
  • Ensure compliance with healthcare industry regulations and standards.
  • Develop and maintain financial policies and procedures to improve internal controls and support organizational growth.
  • Supervise and mentor the finance team, providing guidance and support to ensure high performance and professional development.
  • Coordinate and oversee the annual audit process, working with external auditors to ensure timely and accurate completion.
  • Assist in strategic planning and decision-making by providing financial insights and recommendations.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field; CPA or CMA certification preferred.
  • 5-10 years of experience in a financial management role, with a focus on healthcare finance.
  • Proven experience working directly with senior leadership, ideally with the owner of a company.
  • Strong knowledge of healthcare financial regulations and compliance requirements.
  • Excellent analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
  • Proficiency in financial software and systems, including advanced Excel skills.
  • Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively interact with all levels of the organization.
  • High level of integrity and dependability, with a strong sense of urgency and results-orientation.
  • Medicaid and Medicare billing experience
  • Full understanding of healthcare finances including rev cycle
