What you’ll be doing:

You will help the Maricopa County Department of Public Health (MCDPH) develop and implement new logistics-based programs, procedures, and training to improve efficiency and resource accountability. You’ll be part of a team that works with department staff to integrate assets, supplies, and activities into new resource management systems and develop the infrastructure and training to support these improvements.


You will be responsible for:

  • Coordinate safe operation of department vehicles and mobile resources, including mobile clinics, by planning, scheduling, and overseeing maintenance, repairs, and cleaning. Perform routine safety checks, maintain fuel levels, and arrange repairs. Keep accurate records of all vehicle-related service events. Collaborate with county services and vendors for maintenance and repairs. Gather feedback from field teams to improve program efficiency and report lessons learned.
  • Create and manage detailed spreadsheets, databases, and logs for vehicle records, including monthly inspections, fuel usage, and fleet documentation. Analyze data to produce reports. Additionally, assist with monthly vehicle maintenance and fuel reconciliation reports, budget planning, and procurement.
  • Facilitate the onboarding process and support the department in devising procedures for upcoming acquisitions of large mobile units that fall slightly below the requirement for a commercial license, including electric vehicles and charging stations, among other items.
  • Support warehouse and inventory surveys, including monthly/annual audits, and assist with asset identification and tagging for programs. Aid in managing the AED program, encompassing inspections, repairs, replacements, and ordering. Additionally, assist in resource planning upgrades and identify new vehicle specifications, taking into account parking, safety, and security requirements.
  • Engage in cross-departmental, county, state, and federal initiatives affecting department assets and processes, including future surveys, communications, and performance evaluations. Offer specialized support for system operations and program coordination, assisting with administrative functions. Implement phased objectives and strategies with supervisory guidance. Lead logistics project implementation meetings and presentations.
  • Work predominantly occurs in an office but may involve traveling to department facilities within the county or supporting staff at community events with mobile health units. Training to operate oversized vehicles and onboard equipment may be required for specific duties. Part-time telework may be available based on tasks.
  • Must be able to participate in emergency response training as scheduled and be available to respond as directed in the event of a public health emergency.

What skills & experience you will bring to us:

  • High school diploma or general education degree (GED) required.
  • Three years of responsible clerical and/or administrative experience.
  • Two years of experience in inventory management including capital assets, non-capital assets, and supplies.
  • Experience in vehicle and equipment inventory, including maintenance and coordinating among several programs/offices.
  • Experience writing operational procedures and developing and delivering training in-person, online, and in a telework environment.
  • Must possess a valid Class D Arizona Driver’s License.
