Senior Tax Manager or Principal
New York City, NY 10016

Compensation: $165,000 to $250,000

NYC-based mid-sized public accounting firm is seeking a Senior Tax Manager or Principal to join its Film and Television Production/Intellectual Property practice area. This is a unique opportunity to join a well-renowned firm across the entertainment industry in a position that is partner-track for the right applicant.

RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE THE FOLLOWING:

  • Take full client responsibility, including review of entity-level and individual income tax returns, payroll tax returns, sales tax returns and other deliverables, serving as a primary service contact in conjunction with the partner-in-charge
  • Act as a liaison between clients and government tax authorities to answer questions and resolve potential discrepancies
  • Oversee a team of three to four other tax professionals in administering services to the clients within the practice area
  • Stay current on changes in relevant tax laws and regulations to ensure compliance and maximize client savings
  • Participate in Firm recruiting efforts and in initiatives to increase staff retention


QUALIFICATIONS:

  • No prior experience with tax matters involving film/television production necessary
  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting or a related field required
  • 5+ years of experience as a tax professional with a public accounting firm required
  • CPA license (preferred) or EA certification
  • Exceptional verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills
  • Ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks simultaneously
  • Interest in the entertainment industry is a strong plus
