Job DescriptionJob Description

We are seeking a dedicated 2nd Gage/Quality Technician to join our team. This position is crucial for supporting our manufacturing operations and ensuring the accuracy and reliability of gages used in automotive manufacturing. The successful candidate will be responsible for tracking and managing gages and conducting gage correlation studies in collaboration with quality engineers to ensure compliance with standards.

Responsibilities:

  • Prepare calibration reports and certificates and maintain calibration data and history using our tracking system
  • Interpret engineering drawings and GD&T specifications
  • Perform gage and capability studies on new gages
  • Maintain accurate records for gage calibration, maintenance, and correlation study results
  • Make recommendations on calibration frequency based on data
  • Complete monthly layered audit of floor gages
  • Identify and resolve issues related to gage functionality and compliance
  • Calibrate and verify gages to ensure they meet industry and company standards
  • Coordinated equipment calibration services with multiple facilities and vendors
  • Provide training to personnel on proper gage use and handling

Requirements:

  • High school diploma or equivalent required; an associate’s degree or technical certification in a related field is preferred
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience in a similar role
  • Proficiency in using and calibrating various types of gages, calipers, micrometers, dial indicators, and measuring devices
  • Demonstrated proficiency in diagnostic skills, gaging methods, terminology, and mechanical drawings
  • Strong interpersonal, leadership, and organizational skills
  • Good written and oral communication skills and advanced computer skills
  • Able to pass a pre-employment drug test and background check
