Job DescriptionJob Description

6 month (extendable) assignment, starting ASAP pending BG check and DS. No PTO or benefits. Must be able to stand for extended periods of time. Approximately 30 hours/week (M-F, 9-3:30ish, with some 2nd shift work 4:30 p.m. - 10:30 or so).

The objective of this assignment is to collect data of all incoming engines and their received condition.

  • Observe, from a safe distance and location, offload of the engine racks from the railcars.
  • Record rack style (code/color), rack sequence number stenciled on the racks, and the railcar number the rack came off from for all racks received.
  • For racks received where the engines are not seated properly within the rack or the engine exhibits damage upon removal from the railcar, all of the above information as well as the engine part number, photographs of the rack and engines, location of the rack on the rail car, location of the rack in the stack, and location of engine within the rack.

We will provide a tablet with an Excel file to record the data. Photographs can be taken with the tablet and organized by file name consisting of the rack code, sequence number, and date. At times, taking photos with a personal phone may be required, and some racks may be stacked, so an extension, such as a selfie stick, may be beneficial. A safety vest will be required and can be provided by as needed. Close-toed shoes are required in the facility. Safety glasses and hearing protection are not required in the facility; however, we recommend having them available in case certain areas are accessed that may require them. These can be provided, if needed.

The assignment will take place on first shift. The duration of the project is one month, with the possibility for an extension, depending on the data recorded and determination by the client as to whether they would like to continue the collection efforts.
