Team Leader - Food Production
As the Team Leader in Food Production, you will train new hires and temporary associates, ensure SOP compliance, maintain safety and quality standards, and oversee changeover processes. You will motivate the team to exceed performance goals and foster a positive work environment. Responsibilities include monitoring timekeeping, supporting leadership, and coaching on company policies.
Job Description:
- Assists in training new hires and temporary associates.
- Executes Standard Operating Procedures (SOP) and escalates discrepancies or performance concerns to Supervisor/Leadership when necessary.
- Ensures a safe working environment for all associates at all times.
- Maintains quality, Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP), and uniform standards to deliver a high-quality product to customers.
- Ensures proper completion of changeover processes to enhance product quality.
- Assists Leadership in developing the team through critical role training.
- Motivates and challenges the team to exceed daily performance goals.
- Engages with and shows respect to associates daily, fostering team morale and driving productivity and quality standards.
- Tracks and escalates patterns and behaviors related to timekeeping to supervisor/Leadership.
- Supports and follows directions from managers and supervisors regarding production performance.
- Adheres to all Company policies and seeks opportunities for improvement in all operational areas.
- Coaches employees to follow policies and procedures.
- Performs duties of supervised associates as needed.
- Maintains cleanliness and orderliness of work area and equipment, following safety regulations.
- Completes assigned tasks with minimal supervision.
- Reports food safety and quality concerns.
Skills/Experience:
- 1-2 years of entry-level managerial leadership experience in food production.
- Work experience in food production or food manufacturing preferred.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office, Excel, and Warehouse Management Systems (WMS).
- Clear and concise verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to work calmly and effectively under pressure.
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, deadline-oriented environment.
- Must be at least 18 years old and eligible to work in the US.
- Successful completion of background check and drug screen required.
- Availability to work weekends, overtime, and holidays as needed.
- Ability to repetitively lift up to 49 pounds, bend, and perform physical tasks.
- Ability to stand and/or sit for extended periods of time.
- Willingness to work in varying temperatures, including freezing and sub-freezing environments.
