Authorization Specialist Compensation

  • The pay for this position is $23
  • Benefits are available to full-time employees after 90 days of employment
  • A 401(k) with a company match is available for full-time employees with 1 year of service on our eligibility dates

Authorization Specialist Highlights

The required shift for this position is: M-F 10-7pm PST /Saturday &Sunday 8-5pm- will have a Alternate work schedule 2 days off during the week, Candidates must have the availability to work weekends, late shift and overtime.

Authorization Specialist Responsibilities

  • Call Hospitals for members admission/discharge status

  • Email to the RN - admission/discharge status info received from phone calls

  • Data entry of admission/discharge status info received from hospital into Unity

  • Decision making status on cases based on Health Net criteria if cases are to be routed/followed by an RN or continued to be followed by the UMC.

  • New auth creations for discharge disposition (throughout the day)

  • RN support for auth creation, inquiry checks, manual letter generation, milecalc, corrections (throughout the day)

  • Department pager for urgent hospital inquiries on inpatient admissions

Authorization Specialist Requirements

  • General computer skills- experience with excel spreadsheets and outlook
  • Planning/organizing- detail oriented
  • Time Management
  • Ability to work in a team environment AND independently
  • Good communication and customer service
