Position Overview:

Stephens College is seeking a dedicated and organized Athletic Department Intern for Athletic Administration. This internship offers an opportunity to gain practical experience in the administrative aspects of managing a collegiate athletic program. The intern will assist in various administrative tasks, supporting the overall operations of the athletic department.


Key Responsibilities:


1. Administrative Support:

  • Assist with daily administrative tasks, including scheduling meetings, managing calendars, and handling correspondence.
  • Support the preparation and organization of athletic department documents and records.
  • Help coordinate travel arrangements and itineraries for athletic teams.

2. Event Coordination:

  • Assist in planning and executing athletic events, including game-day operations, special events, and banquets.
  • Coordinate logistics for events, such as facility setup, staffing, and equipment needs.
  • Provide on-site support during events to ensure smooth operations.

3. Compliance and Reporting:

  • Assist in maintaining compliance with NAIA, conference, and institutional regulations.
  • Help prepare and submit required reports and documentation.
  • Support the monitoring of student-athlete eligibility and academic progress.

4. Financial Administration:

  • Assist with budget tracking and financial record-keeping.
  • Support the processing of expense reports and purchase orders.
  • Help manage fundraising activities and donor relations.

5. Communication and Marketing:

  • Assist in developing and distributing promotional materials for athletic programs.
  • Support the management of the athletic department’s website and social media platforms.
  • Help coordinate communication between the athletic department, coaches, student-athletes, and other stakeholders.
Requirements:

Qualifications:

  • Pursuing a degree in sports management, business administration, or a related field.
  • Strong organizational and time-management skills.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and other relevant software.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
  • Passion for sports and a commitment to promoting student-athlete success.
  • Availability to work evenings and weekends as required.
