THIS IS A 100% TRAVELING POSITION

 

Job Responsibilities:

The Traveling Construction Superintendent will serve as the onsite representation, onsite safety officer and onsite construction manager for B2 Constructors, who is the General Contractor. The superintendent will supervise and manage subcontractors, oversee the daily construction activities, provide guidance for subcontractors, maintain schedule, issue accurate and detailed daily reports, conduct daily safety and quality control audits, coordinate with the owner and engineer, ensure a safe and secure worksite and proactively address problems. Additional responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

Ø Attending onsite meetings, and often times lead them

Ø Thoroughly review contract docs to fully understand project scope, drawings and schedule

Ø Provide detailed daily reports with a sufficient number of pics to detail the entire work area, making special mention of delays, unforeseen conditions, quality and/or safety issues, etc.

Ø Proactively develop, address and track RFI’s to keep construction moving without delays or stoppages

Ø Make real time updates to redline drawings and ensure subcontractors do the same

Ø Maintain rolling punchlist that clearly assigns responsibility and due dates

Ø Ensure subcontractors maintain schedule by identifying slippage and making necessary adjustments

Ø Maintain daily sign in/sign out sheets

Ø Conduct safety and quality control inspections and address safety concerns

Ø Continually inspect Subcontractor work to ensure compliance with submittals, plans and specs

Ø Receive material deliveries, documenting and reporting any discrepancies

Ø Enforce safety standards and protocols for anyone working onsite supporting the project

Ø Lead daily morning meetings with Subcontractors and Owner

Ø Lead commissioning activities to ensure timely handover

Ø Be responsible for overall onsite construction success to include adherence to schedule and specs, quality control, change order tracking, communicating between owner, subcontractors and B2 Constructors home office, daily reports, enforcing safety plan, shutdowns, disputes, commissioning, training and handover

Ø Work with Project Managers on monthly Pay Applications, providing percent completes and schedule updates

 

Requirements:

Ø MUST be very detailed oriented, have excellent communication skills and be able to submit daily progress reports along with photos (emphasis on DETAILED)

Ø MUST be well versed in all aspect of construction, especially in the areas of underground utilities, site work, mechanical, plumbing, electrical, concrete, paving, striping, and general construction trades

Ø MUST be highly proficient with computers and have the ability to navigate and learn new software in an efficient manner

Ø MUST be a self-starter and not require a management directive to accomplish their work, maintain a productive and safe worksite, lead subcontractors and produce a quality project on schedule, within budget and per the plans and specs

Ø MUST be able to think outside the box and bring a fresh mindset to address field issues, ensuring safety, efficiency and project success

Ø Proficient in MS Office suite of programs, especially MS Excel, Word, Outlook and Project

Ø 10+ years commercial/industrial construction experience

Ø OSHA 30 certified within the last 5 years or the ability to become certified/recertified within 10 days of being hired

Ø 5+ years Procore experience working for a General Contractor

Ø Consent to background investigation, drug screening and three professional references

 

Strong Preference:

Ø 10+ years working for a Commercial General Contractor

Ø 7+ year Project Management experience

Ø 5+ years Federal Government experience

Ø 5+ Department of Veterans Affairs hospital construction experience

 

More About The Project:

The project site is located in Milwaukee, WI at the Milwaukee VA Medical Center and the scope includes replacement of the underground Domestic Water Main Replacement around the entire campus as well as PRV’s, piping, valves, fittings, building connections, asphalt and concrete patching, striping and system commissioning.
