Position Summary

This position is a critical member of the accounting and finance team, responsible for accounting, reporting, and analysis of various corporate activities, as well as supporting the development and application of GAAP accounting policies and maintaining internal controls.

 

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Lead the daily invoicing process
  • Work with Finance & Accounting leadership to implement a General Ledger conversion project
  • Identify accounting workflow bottlenecks with existing systems and applications and implement solutions & new procedures. AP, AR, Treasury, & Forecasting.
  • Analyze accounting transactions to ensure accuracy and appropriate recording of information and calculation and makes or directs correcting entries resolving accounting discrepancies and irregularities and making sure all phases of the general ledger (including cash, prepaids, fixed assets, inventory, accounts receivables, accounts payable, accrued expenses and debt), month end and financial statements are correct.
  • Monitor invoicing process, record customer payments, and analyze accounts receivable aging schedules for customer collections.
  • Assist in continuously improving the automation of the accounting and reporting process.
  • Perform general accounting functions and assist with credit management with commercial banking partners as well as monitor customer credit.
  • Serve as back up support for different team members to accommodate time off requests.

 

Minimum Qualifications (Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities)

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance.
  • 5+ years general accounting experience
  • Comfortable working in a smaller team environment with experience in ERP & GL system transitions
  • A willingness to be flexible and assist different accounting functions as needed.
  • Thorough knowledge and understanding of GAAP standards.
  • Strong computer aptitude, which includes proficiency with Microsoft Office, Adobe Acrobat, as well as experience with accounting software (preferably QuickBooks & Sage Intact).
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills as well as attention to detail.
  • Ability to work independently and manage multiple projects and deadlines with minimal supervision.
  • Self starter with strong ethical standards.
  • Team player with a positive communication style.
