As Roof Medic’s Full Charge Bookkeeper you will be responsible for handling and managing the daily accounts receivable and accounts payable functions. You will work directly with the owners and General Manager. Must be an honest and dependable person.

 

Responsibilities:

  • Customer invoicing when a job is marked completed

  • Process and request accounts receivable payments

  • Managing customer A/R, sending out reminders to Sales Reps when necessary and ensure that receivables are collected in a timely manner

  • Pay and maintain a schedule for all bills including: suppliers, labor, sales, etc.

  • Maintaining the general ledger. Record and categorize day-to-day monetary transactions, accounts receivable and payable in quickbooks (and in our CRM system when necessary)

  • Balance and reconcile all banking and credit cards; and double-check accounts for errors

  • Coordinate with all staff to collect and manage needed information and documents

  • Remitting payroll, income, sales and use taxes

  • Manage and process employee timesheets and payroll

  • Process 1099 commission payments

  • Ensure W9s and COI is are one file and valid in order to issue vendor/subcontractor payments

  • Ensure all receipts are turned in to office and record them with the correct expenses

  • Perform job audits to ensure all expenses have been recorded to individual job files before closing.

  • Control the petty cash box and keep accurate cash records.

  • Create monthly and quarterly financial statements and submit them to management and CPA

  • Work with external auditors and provide needed information for annual insurance audits.

  • Review, prepare and distribute 1099’s each year

  • Maintain files for fixed asset acquisitions and terminations

  • Assist in tax return preparation

  • Develop internal reports to assist company management in decision making

  • Assist in creating company policies to provide guidelines in terms of bookkeeping

  • Assist with onboarding new employees when needed

  • Keep accurate financial records and ledgers

  • Ensure that the accounting for the company is in line with local, legal and tax regulations

  • Maintain knowledge of current accounting regulations, rules and best practices

 

Qualifications/Skills:

  • BS/BA in Accounting or Finance

  • 5+ years overall hands-on accounting

  • Strong experience with the construction process and the related specialized accounting and job costing practices

  • Strong time management and availability to prioritize tasks effectively.

  • High attention to detail.

  • Ability to multitask and work in a fast-paced environment.

  • Willingness to be part of a team.

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills along with ability to effectively communicate with all levels in the organization

  • Strong analytical, decision making and problem-solving skills

  • Strong overall technology skills

  • Results oriented, high level of personal integrity and dependability and a strong sense of urgency

Pay: Starting at $65k +, depending on experience
