Essential functions:
Human Resources:
Assist the Safety Administrator in the new hire process for all field employees and administrate oral drug tests and E-Verify. Scan and email corporate H/R paperwork. Ensure employee packets to process new hires.
Payroll:
Gather all timesheets, input them into either an Excel spreadsheet or company intranet., verify for accuracy (duplicate hours, unsupervised apprentice, etc.); Forward to our corporate office for processing.
Coordinate distribution of all payroll checks, log into tracking spreadsheet, and ensure delivery.
Troubleshoot and research any pay shortages, missed time, and layoff check requests
A typical day will consist of assisting with new hires Monday-Friday, average of 3 employees per day.
Review all timekeeping reports and confirm that Superintendents have approved their projects’ timecards so that all information flows to the master report
Submit to payroll coordinator all information, including W4 form changes, employee reimbursements, etc.
Submit a separate spreadsheet for missed time from a previous week.
Receive payroll checks to our local printer, sort, seal, distribute, and mail.
If there is additional time, assist time with any administrative needs.
Skills required:
• Knowledge of payroll regulatory requirements
• Strong computer skills; including intermediate Microsoft Excel
• Ability to appropriately handle sensitive and confidential information
• Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written
• Great attention to detail, organization, and accuracy
• Ability to work in a team environment
