We have an opportunity at our Baytown location for a Portable Tank Technician with a starting pay rate of $18.00. The associate must be hardworking, safety oriented and willing to work in outdoor conditions. We're looking for candidates who want to work for a stable, growing company to build a new career opportunity you can count on This is a direct-hire position Benefits will be available from the first of the month after 60 days of employment. Responsibilities: .

  • Ability to inspect and perform maintenance on portable tanks.
  • Line tracing experience.
  • Ability to read a gauge and work with pressurized lines.
  • Ability to work with hand tools and basic mechanical knowledge.
  • May assist in liquid packaging by filling totes, drums from railcar using operating equipment..
  • Operate a forklift unloading or loading totes, drums.
  • Must be able to stoop, crawl and work in elevated area above rail car and platforms.
  • Must be able to lift 50 lbs.
  • Must be able to stand for long periods of time.
  • Must be able to work in outdoor conditions such as in hot, cold and rainy weather.
  • Must be able to multitask and complete task with sense of urgency.
  • Safety oriented.
  • Maintain high level of housekeeping in work area.
  • Reliable/ Team Player.
  • Flexible work schedule: to work any hours between 6:00 a.m. and 6:00 p.m. Monday through Friday, may require work on Saturdays if needed.
  • Ability to be at work each day on time is a must.

Minimum Requirements:

  • Must have 1-3 years of warehousing and mechanical experience (hazmat preferred)
  • High school diploma or GED
  • Ability to read, write, and speak the English language.
  • Detail-oriented and capable of performing basic math functions, including addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division.

Palmer Distribution Services, Inc. was started in the mid-1960s by Frank Rifeschlagger as a public warehouse and trucking company servicing the grocery and chemical industries in Houston, TX. The name comes from a street where the first warehouses were located. After William Hermann took over and provided services, he successfully revitalized during the 1980s. In 1988, Hermann Services acquired Palmer as part of an effort to expand its operations regionally. The Palmer name was used for 9 years until 1997, when the division was renamed Hermann Warehouse Southwest, but it was short-lived after the division was renamed in 2000. The Palmer name was restored at this time with a slight change to our current trade name, Palmer Logistics.

Today, Palmer Logistics is a successful regional provider based on the fundamental philosophies that have enabled the Hermann family's success for four generations: reliability, customer service, and uncompromising integrity.
