We are seeking a skilled Interventional Radiology Technician to join our dynamic healthcare team. The Interventional Radiology Technician will assist the Vascular Surgeon and other medical professionals in performing diagnostic and therapeutic procedures using imaging guidance. The successful candidate will have a strong background in radiologic technology and a keen attention to detail to ensure precise and accurate imaging during procedures. This role requires excellent interpersonal skills, as you will be working closely with patients to provide compassionate care and ensure their comfort throughout the process.

Responsibilities:

  1. Perform Interventional Procedures: Assist in performing a variety of interventional radiology procedures such as angiography, angioplasty, venography, and more under the guidance of the physician/surgeon.
  2. Operate Imaging Equipment: Utilize fluoroscopy, PACS, ultrasound and other imaging modalities to guide procedures and ensure optimal visualization of internal structures. Assists the physician with presume injectors and other relevant equipment and supplies.
  3. Prepare Patients: Explain procedures to patients, address their concerns, and ensure their comfort and safety before, during, and after the procedure.
  4. Sterile Technique: Sets up sterile tray/table, maintain the sterile field during procedures to minimize the risk of infection and adheres to infection control protocols. Capable of assisting the physician/surgeon during catheter procedures under fluoroscopy and is knowledgeable about catheter, guide wire manipulation.
  5. Monitor Patients: Monitor patients' vital signs and condition during procedures, recognizing and promptly addressing any complications that may arise.


  6. Assist with Equipment Setup and Maintenance: Set up and calibrate equipment for procedures, ensuring it is in proper working condition. Perform routine maintenance and troubleshoot technical issues as needed.
  7. Documentation and Record-Keeping: Accurately document procedural details, patient information, and any adverse reactions or complications that occur during or after the procedure.
  8. Collaborate with Healthcare Team: Work closely with radiologists, nurses, and other healthcare professionals to coordinate patient care and ensure smooth workflow in the interventional radiology department.
  9. Ensure Compliance: Adhere to all regulatory requirements, safety standards, and departmental policies and procedures to maintain a safe and efficient work environment.

Qualifications:

  • Associate degree or higher in radiologic technology or a related field.
  • Certification as a Registered Radiologic Technologist (RRT) or similar credential.
  • Previous experience in interventional radiology preferred.
  • Proficiency in operating imaging equipment and familiarity with imaging software.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and ability to communicate effectively with patients and healthcare team members.
  • Attention to detail and ability to maintain focus during complex procedures.
  • Ability to work independently as well as part of a collaborative team.
  • Willingness to adapt to new technologies and procedures in the field of interventional radiology.
  • Current CPR certification.

Physical Requirements:

  • Ability to stand for extended periods and move heavy equipment.
  • Manual dexterity and visual acuity for manipulating instruments and operating controls.
  • Ability to lift and position patients as needed.
  • Willingness to work flexible hours, including evenings, weekends, and on-call shifts as required.
