Cindy Shaw has been a manual physical therapist serving Huntington Beach as the owner of Orthopaedic and Spine Care Physical Therapy for over 35 years. Selling the practice in late 2023 and entering semi-retirement; she now treats privately part-time and is looking for a skilled and compassionate aide and massage therapist to join her team on a part-time basis.

Job description

We have an opening for someone to join our small team as a physical therapist aide and massage therapist. Position is ideal for an individual working towards a higher degree with part-time requirement and availability. The right candidate will have a Bachelor’s Degree in Kinesiology, Exercise Sports Science, massage therapy, or other related field; or equivalent experience. The job consists of working closely with Cindy and patients so assist her in treatment and working with patients as directed. A good understanding of the body, mechanics, and modalities is necessary. We have a wide range of patients from the elderly, chronic and acute injuries and conditions, corrective therapy, and children. Empathetic and clear communication is a requirement; with the ability to hear and understand patients needs through verbal and physical cues.

Qualifications

  • This candidate must display strong empathy and communication
  • A good understanding of body and exercise mechanics and modalities
  • The ability to communicate with patients in a way that makes them feel welcome and comfortable
  • Bachelor’s in Science in Kinesiology, Exercise Sports Science, other related field, or massage therapy preferred; or equivalent experience will be considered
  • Great relationship skills
  • Good at multi-tasking
  • Flexible schedule, part-time schedule
  • 4 - 6 hour shifts, mornings only
  • 6-9 shifts/month

Pay/Shift

  • Pay: $25.00 per hour
  • 6 - 9 shifts monthly
  • 4 - 6 hour shifts
