Gallery Assistant

Gallery Nucleus is seeking a dynamic and passionate Gallery Assistant to join our team of art enthusiasts. As a Gallery Assistant, you will play a crucial role in supporting the gallery's daily operations and events. Our gallery is dedicated to showcasing and promoting both established and emerging artists from all over the world, making it a great opportunity for someone who is passionate about the arts and wants to gain valuable experience in the art industry.

Responsibilities:

- Greet and assist gallery visitors, providing exceptional customer service and answering any questions about the gallery and its exhibitions

- Help with the installation and deinstallation of art pieces and exhibitions

- Maintain the appearance of the gallery by keeping it clean and organized

- Assist with the preparation of events, including artist talks, workshops, and other activities

- Monitor the gallery during open hours to ensure the safety and security of the artwork

- Process sales transactions and handle cash and credit card payments

- Keep track of inventory and assist with restocking and pricing of merchandise

- Create engaging and informative social media content to promote upcoming exhibitions and events

- Collaborate with the team to brainstorm and plan new and exciting projects to drive traffic to the gallery

- Conduct research on potential artists and assist with the curation of future exhibitions

- Provide administrative support such as data entry, filing, and responding to emails

Qualifications:

- A high school diploma or equivalent is required, but a degree in art, art history, or a related field is preferred

- Previous experience in a gallery, museum, or customer service-related role is a plus

- Strong knowledge and interest in contemporary art and the art world in general

- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to interact with people from diverse backgrounds

- Proficiency in social media platforms and experience with creating social media content

- Strong organizational and multitasking skills, with the ability to prioritize and meet deadlines

- Attention to detail and a passion for maintaining a clean and inviting gallery space

- Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment

- Flexibility to work evenings and weekends for special events and gallery openings

Salary: $26,000 to $42,000 yearly
