OVERVIEW:
o Hixson Metal Finishing is seeking a highly skilled Maintenance Technician Lead to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for maintaining and repairing various mechanical equipment and systems including motor controls, electrical components, plumbing systems, pumps, and fabrication tasks. The Maintenance Technician Lead must demonstrate proficiency in troubleshooting, repairing, and performing preventive maintenance tasks. This role requires flexibility in work hours, a commitment to safety protocols, and a positive attitude.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
o Perform maintenance and repair tasks on mechanical equipment, motor controls, electrical systems, plumbing fixtures, and pumps. HVAC is a plus.
o Generate and maintain accurate reports on maintenance activities, including work orders, downtime, and expenditures.
o Inspect and listen to machines to identify malfunctions and determine appropriate repairs.
o Disassemble machinery to access and repair problem areas.
o Set up and operate mechanical equipment and small hand tools for machine and equipment repair.
o Fabricate parts and components as needed for repairs and maintenance.
o Assign tasks and ensure adherence to maintenance schedules.
o Lead by example, demonstrating best practices in technical skills and work ethics.
o Collaborate with other team members and departments to ensure efficient operation of equipment and systems.
o Ensure compliance with maintenance standards and safety regulations.
o Maintain accurate records of maintenance and repair activities.
o Operate forklift and other mobile equipment as required for maintenance tasks and material handling.
o Utilize technical manuals, blueprints, and diagrams to assist in troubleshooting and repairing complex machinery and systems.
o Perform preventative maintenance tasks according to established schedules to ensure optimal functionality of equipment and prevent breakdowns.
o Adhere to company policies and procedures regarding safety protocols, equipment usage, and workplace conduct.
REQUIRED SKILLS:
o Work with and support the maintenance manager.
o Proven experience in maintenance and repair of mechanical equipment, electrical systems, plumbing, and pumps.
o Proficiency in troubleshooting equipment malfunctions and problem-solving.
o Ability to operate forklift and other mobile equipment safely and efficiently.
o Flexibility with work hours including off-shifts and weekends as needed.
o Ability to lift and move 50 pounds without mechanical assistance.
o Positive, can-do attitude with excellent attendance and punctuality.
o Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
o Attention to detail and commitment to quality workmanship.
PREFERRED SKILLS
o Bilingual (English/Spanish).
o HVAC experience
EDUCATION / WORK EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:
o High school diploma or GED from an accredited institution.
o Minimum of five years industrial maintenance experience preferred.
o Held a lead position for a minimum of 12 months.
o Bachelor’s or technical degree a plus.
SALARY RANGE
o The hourly rate for this position is $28.00 to $35.00.
o Actual pay rate will vary based on a candidate’s experience, qualifications, and skills.
