Job Overview:
We are seeking an experienced and dynamic Tax Prep Manager to lead our tax preparation team in Las Vegas, NV. The Tax Prep Manager will oversee the day-to-day operations of the tax preparation department, ensuring efficient workflow, high-quality client service, and compliance with all relevant tax laws and regulations. This role requires strong leadership, excellent organizational skills, and a deep understanding of tax preparation processes.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage and supervise the tax preparation team, including case workers and tax preparers.
  • Oversee the collection and processing of client tax documents, ensuring accuracy and completeness.
  • Develop and implement strategies to improve workflow efficiency and client satisfaction.
  • Ensure all tax returns are prepared accurately and filed in a timely manner.
  • Monitor compliance with federal, state, and local tax laws and regulations.
  • Provide training and support to staff on tax laws, software, and company procedures.
  • Address and resolve client issues and escalations promptly and professionally.
  • Conduct performance evaluations and provide feedback to team members.
  • Maintain up-to-date knowledge of tax legislation and industry trends.
  • Collaborate with the Director of Tax Services to set goals and objectives for the department.
  • Prepare regular reports on departmental performance and key metrics.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field; CPA or EA certification preferred.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in tax preparation, with at least 2 years in a supervisory or management role.
  • Strong knowledge of federal, state, and local tax laws and regulations.
  • Excellent leadership and team management skills.
  • Exceptional communication skills, both verbal and written.
  • Proficiency in tax preparation software and Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
  • High level of attention to detail and organizational skills.
  • Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines.
  • Customer-oriented mindset with a commitment to delivering excellent service.

  • Office setting with extended periods of sitting and using a phone and computer.
  • Occasional evening or weekend hours during peak tax season.

Pay: $21.00 - $27.27 per hour
