Reports To: Head of Academy

Position Overview: Blended Minds Learning Academy is seeking a dedicated and experienced Director / Assistant Director to join our team. The ideal candidate will have extensive knowledge of ODJFS (Ohio Department of Job and Family Services) regulations, experience in increasing Step Up To Quality (SUTQ) scores, and a strong background in childcare and educational settings. This role requires a CPL 3 Level or higher and a bachelor's degree is preferred.

Mission Statement: At Blended Minds Learning Academy, our mission is to provide a safe, nurturing, and stimulating environment where every child’s journey begins with their future in mind. We are committed to fostering holistic development by focusing on cognitive, social, emotional, and physical growth from infancy through school age.

Key Responsibilities:

Leadership and Management:

  • Oversee the daily operations of Blended Minds Learning Academy to ensure a safe, nurturing, and stimulating environment for children.
  • Implement and uphold all ODJFS regulations and standards.
  • Develop and maintain policies and procedures in line with state regulations and organizational standards.
  • Lead and manage staff, including recruitment, training, performance evaluations, and professional development.
  • Build and maintain a positive culture within the academy.

Quality Improvement:

  • Strategize and implement plans to increase the SUTQ rating from 2 to 5 stars.
  • Conduct regular assessments and evaluations of programs and practices to ensure high-quality standards.
  • Foster a culture of continuous improvement and excellence in early childhood education.

Curriculum and Program Development:

  • Design and implement a developmentally appropriate curriculum that aligns with the academy's philosophy and state standards.
  • Oversee the delivery of education and curriculum.
  • Monitor and evaluate educational programs to ensure they meet the diverse needs of all children.

Family and Community Engagement:

  • Build strong relationships with families, addressing their needs and concerns.
  • Promote open communication and collaboration between staff and parents.
  • Engage with the community to build partnerships that support the academy’s mission and goals.
  • Participate in community outreach.
  • Welcome new families and build relationships with enrolled families.
  • Boost recruitment by engaging with the community.

Administrative Duties:

  • Manage budgets, resources, and supplies efficiently.
  • Maintain accurate records and reports as required by ODJFS and other regulatory bodies.
  • Ensure the facility meets all health and safety standards.
  • Perform managerial administrative work.

Qualifications:

  • Minimum of 2-5 years of experience as a director or manager in a child care or school setting.
  • In-depth knowledge of ODJFS regulations and SUTQ standards.
  • CPL 3 Level or higher certification.
  • Associate’s degree, CDA, or Bachelor’s Degree in Early Childhood Education, Child Development, or a related field preferred.
  • 2+ years of experience in a school leadership position (Center Director, Principal, Assistant Principal).
  • Minimum of 2 years teaching experience.
  • Strong leadership, organizational, and communication skills.
  • Ability to relate positively to young children is essential.
  • Experience in early childhood education, management, business, and/or public relations.
  • Passionate about providing high-quality early childhood education.
  • Ability to build a positive culture and boost recruitment.
