Branch Manager

Division/Department: Member Services

Reports to: Member Experience Director

Positions Supervised: Assistant Branch Manager(s); Branch Representatives

Full-time - Exempt

Job Summary: Responsible for directing and administering the operational efforts of the branch. Oversees provision of full range of services to members/prospective members. Provide exceptional member service to members and internal staff at all times.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Assumes responsibility for the effective and efficient performance of branch operations.
  • Assumes responsibility for maintaining proper cash controls.
  • Effectively supervises branch staff, ensuring optimal performance and exceptional member service.
  • Assumes responsibility for establishing and maintaining effective, professional business relations with members.
  • Ensures operations are conducted in accordance with established Credit Union policies and with legal and regulatory requirements.
  • Implements changes to established policies and procedures within the branch.
  • Conducts regular meetings with branch employees to inform and train. Discusses areas needing improvement and changes in procedure.
  • Tracks individual progress and conducts performance appraisals on each employee as required. Provides leadership training to employees seeking management opportunities.
  • Uphold the compliance requirement of all related federal regulations, including but not limited to, the Bank Secrecy Act and Anti-Money Laundering policies and procedures. Complete annual BSA training requirements as established by SunWest Credit Union.
  • Keeps management apprised of branch activities and/or any significant problems.

Education and/or Work Experience Requirements:

  • High School graduate or equivalent. Includes formal and on the job training.
  • One to three years related experience; minimum two years of supervisory experience.
  • Driver’s license required.
  • Understanding of Credit Union services and products and Credit Union philosophy.
  • Excellent computer efficiency (MS Office/Word/Excel and Outlook).
  • Ability to operate PC and other computer systems and software, including office equipment
  • Required reports and records are accurate, complete and timely.

Physical Requirements:

  • Ability to safely and successfully perform the essential job functions consistent with the ADA, FMLA and other federal, state and local standards, including meeting qualitative and/or quantitative productive standards.
  • Ability to maintain regular, punctual attendance consistent with the ADA, FMLA and other federal, state and local standards.
  • Must be able to lift and carry up to 10 lbs.
  • Must be able to talk, listen and speak clearly on the telephone.
