Location: Piscataway, NJ (3 days in-office, 2 WFH)
Pay Rate: $35-40/hr
Payroll Specialist Responsibilities:
  • Processes bi-weekly payroll for 3 companies for both non-exempt and exempt employees.
  • Reviews timecards for accuracy and approvals, follows up with managers when necessary, and processes the end of period tasks in time & attendance system.
  • Approves the final payroll submission for distribution/direct deposit.
  • Processes entries including garnishments, direct deposits, W-4 & state taxes, voluntary deductions, bonuses, salary increases, and fringe benefits (auto allowance, cell phone allowance, etc.).
  • Coordinates and interacts with federal, state, and insurance agencies on issues pertaining to employee compensation, general deductions, benefits, audits, worker’s comp, and retirement.
  • Compiles and analyzes payroll data, makes recommendations and determinations and prepares related reports for Accounting and HR Departments.
  • Coordinate with Accounting Manager to process Journal Entries through ADP General Ledger Interface
  • Analysis of Employee Benefits (Medical, Dental, Life and Voluntary) from invoices to charges on bills and approve payments.
  • Calculates monthly 401(k) match.
  • Monitor Worker’s Comp claims and experience ratings.
  • Monitors Quarterly and Year-End tax reports.
Payroll Specialist Requirements:
  • HS Diploma of GED minimum. Bachelor's degree preferred.
  • Minimum 3-5 years of payroll experience
  • Experience utilizing ADP required
