We are currently looking for an experienced Commercial Service Technician to join our team in Wilmington, NC.

Primary Job Function: To provide maintenance and repairs along with some installations on a wide variety of commercial heating and air conditioning systems according to company standards providing the customer with a high quality experience. Provide feedback to Service Manager or Senior Service Technician regarding technical training needs, inventory and retail pricing.

Work Hours: 40+ hours per week plus some overtime – NO ON CALL

Required Qualifications

  • 3+ years experience as an HVAC technician
  • HVAC education preferred and strong mechanical background. Clean driving record and insurable driving record.
  • Must pass drug and background screens.
  • Ability to read and interpret wiring diagrams and blueprints.
  • Experience making repair and replace decisions.
  • Ability to install and service hydronic and refrigerant piping.
  • Working knowledge of boilers and chillers is preferred.
  • Demonstrate willingness to accept responsibility and leadership roles.
  • Knowledge of basic sheet metal practices.
  • Knowledge of air balancing principles and techniques.
  • Ability to climb ladders and use them in a safe manner.
  • Ability to work outside in all types of weather.
  • Possess basic hand tools to perform the above-mentioned work.
  • EPA Universal Certification
  • Ability to troubleshoot complex high and low-voltage electrical systems. Expert ability to read wiring schematics.
  • Has a thorough understanding of various equipment to include large unitary packaged equipment up to and over 25 tons, VRF, basic air-cooled chillers, semi-hermetic compressors, dehumidification equipment, complex specialty equipment, air handlers of all types, simple boilers, cooling towers, water pumps, valves, actuators, and VFD's.
    • Proficient with troubleshooting, repairing, and maintaining all components of the above equipment.
    • Complete understanding of the sequence of operation and control strategies for the above equipment
