Downs & Stanford, P.C. has an immediate opening for an experienced Workers' Compensation paralegal in our Downtown Dallas office. Preferred candidates will have a minimum of 3-5 years of experience reviewing and analyzing medical records. Candidates will be expected to immediately begin working with a variety of cases of all levels of complexity in a fast-paced, high demand environment. Salary is commensurate with experience.

Essential Functions (Varies with each position)

Manage large caseload with multiple attorneys and team members

  • Sort, review, and analyze medical records for scheduled Designated Doctor visits and Required Medical Examinations for Workers' Compensation claimants
  • Draft analysis letters for attorney and/or Doctor review with minimal supervision
  • Communicate with clients, claims adjusters, opposing counsel, experts, and the Texas Department of Insurance
  • Schedule Designated Doctor appointments and Required Medical examinations, and follow up after completion
  • Meet or exceed monthly billable hour requirement of at least 100 hours

Qualifications:

  • Demonstrates a high degree of commitment, honesty, and integrity in all aspects
  • Minimum of 3-5 years of experience reviewing, analyzing, and summarizing medical records
  • Able to work with a team in a collaborative environment or independently
  • Critical thinking that displays initiative and adaptability
  • Self-motivated, organized, detail oriented, efficient, hard-working
  • Strong communication skills, professional, prompt, excellent attendance
  • Proficient with Windows and Microsoft Office products, including Outlook, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
  • Experienced with virtual meeting platforms such as Zoom, Microsoft Teams, and WebEx
  • Knowledgeable of Microsoft Edge, and Google Chrome web browsers, PDF compatible software, and related productivity applications
  • Experienced with Coyote Analytics or similar billing and calendaring software a plus
