Job Title: Forklift Operator​​​​​​

Summary: We are recruiting a Forklift Operator 1st & 2nd Shift to join our team The main responsibility of the role is the safety and efficient movement of products and materials. Forklift operators are responsible for loading and unloading incoming vehicles, optimizing loads to ensure operational efficiency, scheduling vehicles for maintenance and repairs, and managing inventory by utilizing RF scanning equipment, identifying damaged products/notifying the quality department, among other duties.

 

Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following:

  • Operate various vehicles for storage or removal of materials
  • Prepare products and materials for shipment
  • Load, unload, and stage products and materials
  • Track and record units of materials handled
  • Adhere to safety policies and procedures
  • Perform cycle counts as required.
  • Wireless RF scanning equipment to ensure the accuracy of inventory.
  • Inspect and perform maintenance of forklifts and other material handling equipment.
  • Identify safety hazards in the workplace.

BRC Requirements/Responsibilities:

  • Maintain food safety and food quality by completing job tasks and maintaining the work area in a sanitary manner.
  • Report food safety problems to personnel with authority to initiate action.
  • Must follow GMPs and attend all mandatory training provided by the company

​Qualifications To perform this job successfully:​​​​​​

  • Minimum Highschool or GED
  • Prior forklift experience (preferably in the food industry) is necessary
  • Familiarity with pallet jack and other industrial vehicles
  • Ability to handle physical workload
  • Knowledge and understanding of FIFO.
  • Good communication
  • Forklift Certificated is a plus
  • Bilingual (Spanish) is a plus.
  • Basic math skills.
  • Good organizational skills.
  • Flexibility
  • Weekend and overtime if necessary.
