Job DescriptionJob Description

This position is responsible to develop and implement optimal, cost-effective manufacturing processes and methods in accordance with product specifications and quality standards. Recommends and implements improvements to production processes, methods, and controls. Supports and coordinates Design for Manufacturability for new and existing products. Provide leadership and expertise in welding design, welding design, and assembly fixtures for large systems. Familiar with codes, specifications, standards, and other aspects of welding, fabrication, and assembly.

Primary Job Responsibilities
 

  • Oversees the analysis and design of lean manufacturing cells using effective systems and tools to optimize the use of space, equipment, material, and personnel
  • Prepares and maintains detailed layouts of processes and related equipment
  • •Coordinates the manufacturing launch of new/revised products including establishing goals, training team members, and evaluating results
  • •Confers with management, engineering, and other staff regarding manufacturing capabilities, production schedules, and other considerations to facilitate production processes
  • Develops work aids and/or documentation for products in order to train assembly personnel
  • Confers with supply chain and engineering staff concerning product design and tooling to ensure efficient production methods and quality results
  • Designs, develops, tests, sources, and cost-justifies various tools, machinery and equipment for recommended manufacturing methods
  • Confers with vendors to determine product specifications and arrange for purchase of machinery and equipment according to specifications and quality standards
  • Applies statistical methods and performs product/process analysis for cost reduction, quality improvement, and improved efficiency
  • Represents manufacturing and/or engineering on cross-functional teams



Experience/Skills/Abilities
 

  • 5 years or more of related experience with manufacturing processes including welding
  • Experience in the fabrication and welding of large systems.
  • Experience with AutoCAD, SolidWorks, or similar programs; CNC programming experience desired
  • Strong knowledge in written product specifications
  • Ability to organize and manage multiple products through the manufacturing process
  • Possesses strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Possesses quality orientation and high attention to detail
  • Possesses strong interpersonal skills and the ability to work with customers, vendors, employees and managers at all levels within the company
  • Possesses strong computer skills with demonstrated proficiency in standard business software packages (e.g., Microsoft Office)
  • Experience in ERP systems, SAP desired


Desired Skills
• Robotic welding experience.
• CWI/ CWEng certification
