Heffernan Holland Morgan Architecture (HHMA), located in the historic district of Pensacola, has been providing planning and architectural design services for government, educational, and commercial clients for over 40 years. We are seeking an experienced Project Architect to join our team. If you are a creative individual with a passion for architecture and possess the required skills and experience, we encourage you to apply.

PRIMARY RESPONSIBLITIES:

  • Interacting with clients, conducting programming interviews, facilitating charrettes and presentations
  • Developing design and construction documents through construction administration
  • Preparing technical specifications and construction cost estimates
  • Collaborating with team architects and consulting engineers
  • Production of CAD drawings from sketches and hardline drawings
  • Ensuring compliance with building codes, zoning, and safety regulations
  • Informing team of potential project conflicts and/or emerging issues
  • Meeting task and project deadlines
  • Carrying out assignments independently with limited oversight

REQUIREMENTS:

  • Licensed architect or on track to be licensed
  • At least 5 years of related full-time experience in an architectural firm
  • Experience working with federal government agencies is a plus
  • LEED or other Sustainable Design credentials is a plus
  • Experience with all phases of project development
  • Proficiency in Microsoft 365 and software such as AutoCAD and Revit
  • Strong verbal, listening, and written communication skills, analytic and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to work effectively with internal and remote team members
  • Solid knowledge of building codes, standards, and regulations
