We're currently seeking a Mechanical Design Engineer for a leading machinery manufacturer for the food industry in Lake Forest, IL. You'll play a vital role in the customization and design of all new and existing high-speed production machinery that produces food. 

​Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering or related.
  • 2+ years of experience as a design engineer, mechanical engineer, product engineer or related roles.
  • Experience designing Machines or Industrial Equipment
    • This could be working at an OEM, Capital Equipment/Machine Builder, or another food manufacturer.
  • Experience with 3D Cad Software (SolidWorks, Inventor, Creo)
    • Designing 3D solid models and prototypes
  • Experience with FEA, FMEA, analysis, and design of steel structures or weldments would also be a PLUS.

Responsibilities:

  • Involved in the customization and design of all new and existing product orders from customers.
  • Generally juggling several different equipment projects at one time, but primarily focused on the actual design activities.
  • Designing parts, components, full systems, and changes to new or existing machine.
    • Using SolidWorks
      • Doing the 3D solid modeling, prototyping.
  • Working in team meetings and collaborating with engineers during different phases of projects.
