Position: Dispatch Manager

Position Overview: As a Dispatch Manager at Barnsco, you will play a pivotal role in overseeing our dispatch operations and delivery fleet. Your leadership will be crucial in ensuring timely and efficient delivery of materials and services while maintaining the highest safety and regulatory standards.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Leadership & Team Development:

    • Exhibit leadership that aligns with Barnsco’s Core Values.
    • Mentor and guide the dispatch team to enhance efficiency and customer support.
    • Supervise and train dispatch staff and drivers, evaluating performance and providing constructive feedback.

  • Dispatch Operations Management:

    • Monitor and manage dispatch schedules to optimize efficiency and reduce downtime.
    • Communicate effectively with drivers, customers, and stakeholders to coordinate deliveries and resolve issues.
    • Address and resolve any issues or delays in dispatch operations.

  • Fleet Management:

    • Oversee the maintenance and repair of all Barnsco fleet vehicles, ensuring they are in top condition.
    • Track vehicle utilization, fuel consumption, and performance metrics.
    • Implement and maintain fleet management software systems.
    • Analyze fleet performance data to identify trends and opportunities for improvement.

  • Compliance & Safety:

    • Ensure all dispatch operations comply with safety regulations and company policies.
    • Conduct safety briefings and training sessions for dispatch personnel and drivers.
    • Investigate and address safety incidents or concerns.

  • Customer Service & Communication:

    • Serve as the primary contact for customer inquiries and complaints regarding dispatch and delivery.
    • Maintain high levels of customer satisfaction through efficient and courteous service.

  • Administrative Duties:

    • Maintain accurate records of dispatch activities and transactions.
    • Provide reports as requested by management and Kodiak BP.
    • Assist in establishing and managing the annual departmental operating budget.

Required Education & Experience:

  • 5+ years of experience in a dispatch or fleet management role.
  • High School Diploma or GED required; additional relevant certifications or degrees preferred.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Exceptional organizational skills with a keen attention to detail.
  • Proactive, detail-oriented, and self-motivated with the ability to prioritize multiple tasks.
  • Bilingual - English/Spanish (preferred)
