We are searching for an Estimator to join our team We are open to any experience level for this role, salary and training will be dependent on the skills brought to the table. This is a great opportunity for someone looking to grow their career in construction estimating
Training for this role will be aligned with the new team member's experience and level of skill in estimating. Training will occur for up to a year at our Elma, NY location. This position will be required to work on site in Elma, NY, working closely with the Estimating team, for up to a year and then work out of our Rochester, NY location.
Responsibilities in the role include the following and may differ based on the experience of the team member hired related to the length of the onboarding and training period:
- Provide clerical support, do breakdowns, and other support items to the Estimating team while in training
- Download and save all bid documents
- Learn our scope of work.
- Familiarize with specifications.
- Send pricing requests to vendors.
- Attend monthly estimator meeting.
- Perform job breakdowns.
- Attend site visits with project managers.
- Familiarize with productions.
- Take off procedure.
- Complete job takeoffs and pricing.
- Attend trade organization seminars.
For success in this role, we are searching for at least for the following qualifications:
- 2 to 3 years’ experience in the construction field, metal studs and drywall construction experience a plus, but not required.
- College education in construction management preferred, but not required.
- Exposure or experience with blueprints.
- Experience in specialty sub-contractor level estimating a plus.
- Demonstration of strong leadership, commercial construction knowledge, organizational and time management skills, as well as strong communication and client service skills.
- Strong attention to detail and excellent written and verbal communication skills, organized, engaged, flexible, and self-motivated
- Ability to meet the location requirements of training and worksites
