Job DescriptionJob Description

Covenant House Incorporated, a Federally Qualified Health Center, is seeking a medical biller to manage the billing of insurance and processing payments for clients. The ideal candidate is expected to have knowledge of preparing and submitting claims for medical procedures and services provided to insurance companies. You will be expected to communicate with patients about outstanding balances, and collect payments for the provider institution. You must have good attention to detail and ensure that patient medical information is accurate and up to date. Candidate must also be able to analyze medical data and use sound judgment when needed. Strong written and verbal communication skills are necessary as when working with patients, clients, collection agencies, and insurance companies.

Daily duties and responsibilities include monitoring accounts, working with patients to schedule payment arrangements, and pursuing delinquent accounts. You will need to have an in-depth understanding of billing software, electronic medical records, and medical codes.

Requirements: High School diploma/GED, or some college education is preferred.  At least two years’ experience in medical billing, and be highly proficient with numbers. Must pay attention to detail; and must ensure accurate data entry and review calculations for accuracy.  Experience in a medical center environment is a plus.
