DUTIES

The material handler will be responsible for storing, organizing, and blending materials used in the extrusion process.

Must work with operators to deliver the correct blends at the correct times to ensure continuous, efficient production.

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES

Perform a variety of material handling duties including:

·        Efficiently move, load, and unload materials using hand trucks, forklifts, or other equipment.

·        Track and manage inventory levels, ensuring materials are available and correctly stored.

·        Prepare and package material and blends, including creating and affixing labels as required.

·        Operate equipment such as forklifts, hand jacks, and other machinery used in material handling.

·        Perform quality checks on materials such as durometer checks and sorting

·        Accurately record relevant material data.

·        Follow all safety procedures and protocols to prevent accidents and injuries.

·        Maintain a clean and organized work area to promote safety and efficiency.

·        Report any issues or discrepancies with materials, equipment, or processes to the appropriate supervisor or manager.

·        Work with other team members and departments to ensure smooth production and material flow.

 

REPORTS TO:  Production Manager

 

JOB REQUIREMENTS

Individual must

·        be fluent in written and spoken English,

·        prepare boxes, labels, etc for production needs

·        bend, twist, and lift materials up to shoulder height not exceeding 45 pounds

·        move heavier objects with hand trucks, pallet jacks, or forklifts

·        stand on feet for extended periods of time

·        follow all safety rules, and

·        operate a forklift safely.

Work is performed in close proximity to machines that can cause severe burns, cuts, or other injury if proper instructions are not followed. Work typically performed with occasional oversight by supervisor, sometimes individually, and sometimes in teams with others.
