SHOP HELPER
Responsible for the assistance in the operations required to finish and deliver
fabrication parts. This includes hardware insertion, deburring, type 32 bezel gluing and part packaging.
JOB REQUIREMENTS
•Works on assignments that are moderately complex in nature where judgment is required in resolving problems and making recommendations. Limited supervision.
MAJOR TASKS & RESPONSIBILITIES (ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS)
• Responsible for deburring and surface graining of sheet metal parts
• Installs hardware
• Assists in gluing and assembly of type 32 bezels
• Packages parts for delivery to Fremont stock
SKILLS & ABILITIES
• Ability to use deburring tools
• Ability to utilize belt and disc sanders grainer and hardware press
• Ability to understand and follow instructions and work with limited supervision
• Reliability is essential
• Forklift certification
• Must have good basic oral and written communication skills
• Ability to work in a team environment and independently
WORKING CONDITIONS
• Sitting occurs up to 30% of the time for brief or extended periods
• Lifting/carrying occurs approximately 30% of the time up to 25 pounds
• Handling/grasping occur approximately 30% of the time
• Some exposure to metal dust occurs as a result of deburring
• Standing/walking occurs up to 70% of the time on concrete floors
• Work is performed in a Sheet Metal Shop. Exposure to noise requires use of earplugs. Safety glasses are required when performing various job duties.
• Occasional use of forklift is required
EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE
• High School graduate or equivalent/ 1-3 years related experience preferred
