Subsurface Utility Engineering Technician III

Location: Dallas, TX

Hours: Monday-Friday 8am-5pm (Must be willing to work outside of this schedule at times)

Pay rate: $30-35/hour

Engineering firm is looking for a SUE Technician III to join their team.

What You Will Do:

  • Operate SUE utility locating and designating equipment in complex utility infrastructure environments to accurately map all utilities within the project area
  • Complete detailed and accurate daily reports, forms, and field sketches, both electronically and by hand
  • Supervise daily SUE field crew activities and train other crew members
  • Represent and communicate on behalf of T2ue with clients, sub-contractors, and third parties during field activities
  • Maintain, clean, and operate vehicles, equipment, tools, and supplies effectively
  • Facilitate daily tailgate safety meetings
  • Perform daily job hazard analysis with crew members
  • Drive commercial motor vehicles (CDL license not required)
  • Direct safety set-up for proper maintenance of traffic signage
  • Complete monthly equipment inventory for supervisor reorder
  • Handle other duties and projects as assigned

What You Need:

  • Ability to read and interpret utility company prints and design plans
  • Good oral and written communication skills with attention to detail
  • Ability to lift 50 lbs. and perform physical movements necessary to operate heavy tools and equipment
  • Willingness to work outdoors in all climates
  • Willingness to travel up to 50% of the time, by company vehicle or commercial airline, for up to a 2-week continuous stay
  • 2+ years of experience as a SUE Field Technician II
  • Must have a valid and active Driver’s License
  • Subject to drug screening and criminal background investigation
  • High School Diploma or GED
