SUMMARY
Pool Attendant to perform the various Pool duties and service requests which ensure the Pool and its surrounding area is kept clean and safe. In addition, Pool Attendants are expected to support the goals of the Association.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
A. Perform the various pool duties and cleaning which ensure the visual appeal and viability of the pool and surrounding areas including:
1. Gather and properly dispose of litter and debris including but not limited to cigarette butts, papers, cans, leaves, etc. found around the pool and bathroom area.
2. Sweep and maintain pool deck and bathrooms and other public areas as directed by the Property Manager or appointed person.
3. Water and weed flowers pots in the pool deck area and clubhouse as requested.
4. Test water chemistry and record in log book.
5. Record pressure and flow meter readings.
6. Keep pool deck clean and free of weeds.
7. Empty Skimmer baskets.
8. Vacuum and Clean the pool and stairs daily.
9. Provide assistance to office and maintenance staff as needed.
10. Fill pool if necessary.
11. Set up safety equipment: rescue tube, buoy, backboard, etc.
12. Clean/organize Front desk.
13. Maintain open communication with Management.
14. Set up sign in sheets.
15. Put Umbrellas out at beginning of shift and take them in at end of shift.
16. Clean bathrooms at end of each shift.
17. Make sure bathrooms are always stocked.
18. Advise the Management of the need for supplies.
19. Advise the Management of any potential problems seen in routine daily operations.
20. Open or Close pool house and bathrooms.
21. Resident check ins include assuring the pool does not have more visitors than permitted per pass or per rules.
22. Keep tables and chairs clean and in neat order on the pool deck.
23. Put away all toys if left out.

QUALIFICATIONS
The ability to communicate clearly with the Co-owners, residents and other staff members. General Pool attendant skills.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
A High School diploma or general education degree (GED), and some experience in Pool Attendant are minimum requirements. Practical training, skills and experience in a wide range of customer service functions are helpful.

LANGUAGE SKILLS
A candidate must have the ability to read, interpret and make sound judgments about documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, procedure manuals, etc. A candidate must be able to communicate effectively. He or she must be able to speak clearly.

CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS
Certified Pool Operator if applicable.

OTHER SKILLS AND ABILITIES
A positive, energetic, physical work ethic is critical to the ability of a Pool attendant to perform satisfactorily at Geddes Lake. A candidate may be required to pass a physical examination, and may be required to pass a written test of basic capabilities. A candidate will have demonstrated at least some ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships other people. A candidate will be able to interpret and then accomplish GLCA goals and objectives within available budgets, and will subscribe to GLCA policies and rules. A candidate will show ability to establish teamwork and professionalism among employees.

While performing the duties of this job, an employee is required to stand, walk, use hands to finger, handle, or feel objects, tools, or controls, and talk and hear. The employee is required to reach with hands and arms. The employee is required to sit, sometimes for several hours. The employee must squat, stoop or kneel, reach above the head and reach forward. The employee continuously uses body strength to grasp and use tools, handle loaded shovels, climb ladders and equipment, get in and out of vehicles. The employee will bend or twist at the neck and trunk, even while lifting, more than the average person. The employee will often expend considerable physical effort.

An employee in this position will be required to have close vision, good color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust the focus of their eyes for these purposes.
