Job DescriptionJob Description

We are seeking a highly skilled Contract Conformance Specialist (CCS) to oversee contractual compliance for capital and maintenance projects. The CCS will be responsible for managing the documentation flow and ensuring adherence to contractual obligations between the company and contractors. This role requires extensive interaction with various internal departments and third parties, including legal, project management, construction, and procurement teams.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Contract Management: Facilitate and ensure compliance with Project Execution contracting strategies. Develop and review detailed contract exhibits, including scope definitions, specifications, pricing structures, and special instructions.
  • Technical Documentation: Draft and review technical contract language and integrate project-specific functional requirements into final contract documents. Ensure alignment with Project Management Office standards.
  • Cost and Change Management: Oversee the change order process, including managing change order logs, preparing change directives, reviewing contractor-initiated changes, and issuing approved change orders.
  • Compliance and Reporting: Monitor contractor compliance with contract terms. Review and verify invoices against contract requirements and manage contractor correspondence and documentation logs.
  • Coordination and Communication: Engage with Project Managers, Field Cost Analysts, and other stakeholders to review project progress, scope changes, and cost forecasts. Facilitate project-specific communication plans and provide updates to the Contract Conformance Regional Lead (CCRL).
  • Documentation Control: Establish and maintain a project contract document control system in accordance with company procedures. Ensure proper contract close-out and file retention.
  • Audit and Compliance: Prepare for and support internal and external compliance audits. Maintain a high level of data accuracy and integrity.

Qualifications:

  • Educational Requirements: Bachelor’s degree in engineering, construction management, legal, technical, or business discipline. Alternatively, an Associate’s degree with extensive relevant experience.
  • Experience: Minimum of 10 years in legal, engineering, construction, or contract administration, with a focus on construction-related projects, preferably within the gas pipeline industry.
  • Technical Skills: Expertise in contract management processes, earned value management, and project controls. Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and technical writing.
  • Knowledge: In-depth understanding of contracting practices, document management, and compliance requirements specific to energy sector construction projects.
  • Soft Skills: Exceptional problem-solving abilities, strong communication and interpersonal skills, and the capacity to manage multiple tasks independently.

Work Conditions:

  • The CCS will primarily work from a company field office with occasional remote work. The position requires frequent travel within the assigned region.
