POSITION SUMMARY

Warehouse Supervisor is generally responsible for maintaining and overseeing inventory and supplies by receiving, storing, and sorting library books for multiple library locations. In addition, they are responsible for securing the warehouse, supervising staff, and maintaining employee documentation. This role reports directly to the Regional Operations Manager.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

Primary Functions

  • Provides a safe working environment and ensures, communicates effectively and leads by example.
  • Supervises and controls warehouse operations with a strong focus on accuracy and process flow.
  • Addresses warehouse associates’ concerns
  • Responsible for interviewing, hiring, and the training of new warehouse employees
  • Handles all employee documentation including time sheets
  • Oversees all daily operations of a designated shift and works to improve warehouse practices
  • Ensure warehouse equipment is properly maintained
  • Ensure route drivers start and finish daily with their assigned routes.

Additional Support Functions

  • Assist delivery personnel in locating their designated library books (if necessary)
  • Abide by all company safety and hygiene regulations

  • Strong and clear communication skills
  • Demonstrate the ability to think critically and problem solve with an ability to resolve any situation that occurs in the warehouse
  • Demonstrate the ability to delegate warehouse responsibility

REQUIRED EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

  • High school diploma or GED
  • Associates degree preferred
  • Warehouse experience required

WORKING CONDITIONS

  • Keep a clean and safe working environment and optimize space utilization
  • Ensure the safety of all warehouse associates

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

  • Will require heavy lifting or carrying
  • Must be able to move around a warehouse environment
  • Must be able to think outside of the box and perform every task in the warehouse if needed

TRAVEL

  • This job does not require local travel

SUPERVISION

  • This role does supervise staff to include drivers and warehouse personnel.
