Certified Welder Inspector in West Sacramento CA Entry level
Morning shift
Pay rate: $34.03-$45.00
Responsibilities
· Participates in the process of continuous improvement of the company’s manufacturing operations.
· Conducts quality audits to ensure systems are sound and supported.
· Assists Purchasing department with supplier quality issues.
· Assists engineering and service with customer quality issues.
· Assists with customer audits.
· Maintains inspection equipment such as calipers, micrometers, pin gauges, and the like.
· Possesses strong problem-solving skills.
· Possesses basic knowledge of process improvement and data tracking (e.g. KPI’s, SPC, Lean, etc.).
· Able to read shop drawings and interpret weld symbols.
· Able to inspect welds per AWS D1.1 section 5.23 for weld profiles and section 6.9 for visual inspection acceptance criteria.
· Able to inspect manufactured or purchased components per the drawing or other specification.
· Assists in the investigation of non-conformance and determines root cause.
· Performs non-destructive testing utilizing ultrasonic, magnetic particle, and penetrant.
Experience
Associate’s degree (A.A.) or equivalent from two-year college or technical school; or six months to one year related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Excellent analytical skills with the ability to identify trends and patterns in data
- Detail-oriented mindset with a focus on accuracy and precision
- Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to implement effective solutions
- Excellent communication skills to effectively collaborate with cross-functional teams
