Position Title: Mortgage Loan Processor I

Organizational Relationships: Reports to Mortgage Loan Servicing Supervisor

Supervisory Responsibilities: N/A

General Function: Process early disclosures, re-disclosures, and closing disclosures for consumer real estate loans according to regulation and WCU policy. Contacts Originator for missing or incomplete information needed to process the real estate application. Scrub application & information in Mortgage Bot for accuracy and completeness. Offer clerical and customer service support to Originators, Originator Assistants, Vice President of Mortgage Lending, and Senior Management team, as well as all members of their departments.

Position Functions:

  • Assist Mortgage Lending Department staff on a daily basis and assist Member Business Lending Department as needed.
  • Process and disclose Loan Estimates, re-disclosures, closing disclosures, and loan closing documents.
  • Scrub real estate applications in Mortgage Bot to verify accuracy and completeness of application and supporting documents (tax returns, W2’s, etc.)
  • Contact Originator for missing or incomplete information needed to process the real estate application.
  • Assist with processing of real estate restructures, including but not limited to document processing, obtaining, and adding restructure information to member accounts as needed.
  • Prioritize loan pipeline at the beginning of each workday to determine most important and time-sensitive tasks and projects; check pipeline at the end of each workday, to determine which tasks need to be done as soon as possible on the following workday.
  • Work closely with Title Specialists to prepare closing disclosure and closing documents for review to ensure accuracy.
  • Address compliance alerts and coordinate with Quality Assurance team to prepare any documentation needed for correction.
  • Perform most important and time-sensitive tasks first.
  • Organize projects to ensure maximum workflow between Lending Department and other Departments.
  • Self-monitor to ensure timeliness and accuracy of work.
  • Work proactively with other Whitefish Credit Union personnel to ensure a “team effort” and prompt Member service.

Position Requirements:

  • Ability to communicate effectively verbally, in writing, and over the phone, with Supervisor, President / CEO, Members, Volunteers, Co-workers, and Senior Management Team.
  • Ability to follow oral and written instructions.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills.
  • Strong analytical and organizational skills.
  • Ability and willingness to work both independently and as part of an established team.
  • Ability and willingness to learn on the job and improve Loan-related skills within context of Whitefish Credit Union policies and procedures over time.
  • Ability to prioritize work and juggle multiple simultaneous projects.
  • Ability and willingness to work with a variety of office equipment and software systems.
  • Ability to sit for prolonged periods of time over the course of an 8-hour day.
  • Completes mandatory annual BSA training that includes Red Flag, Identity Theft, OFAC, CTR and SAR reporting and thresholds, as well as the safe keeping of member information, and passes any applicable tests.
  • Follows all Whitefish Credit Union, Montana, and Federal information privacy guidelines.
  • Adheres to all Whitefish Credit Union policies and procedures.
  • Reports to work on time and as scheduled.
  • Protects Member and Whitefish Credit Union confidential information.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

Required Education and Experience:

  • High school diploma required.
  • 1-2 years’ professional experience with accounting or lending procedures preferred but not required.
