The Senior Tax Accountant is responsible to ensure timely and accurate filing of various tax forms and documents, develop tax strategies, and handle all aspects of tax accounting to minimize the company's tax liabilities. This role requires in-depth knowledge of tax law and accounting principles, strong analytical skills.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Prepare and review federal, state, and local tax returns.
  • Ensure compliance with all tax regulations and timely filing of tax returns.
  • Coordinate audits and manage tax notices and correspondence with tax authorities.
  • Develop tax strategies to minimize tax liabilities and maximize tax benefits.
  • Conduct research on tax issues and legislation to ensure the company’s tax practices are up-to-date.
  • Provide tax advice to senior management on the potential tax impacts of business decisions.
  • Oversee the preparation of tax provisions and deferred tax calculations for financial reporting.
  • Collaborate with the accounting department to ensure accurate financial statements and tax disclosures.
  • Monitor and implement changes in tax accounting standards.
  • Identify and mitigate tax risks through effective tax planning and compliance strategies.
  • Ensure internal controls are in place to manage tax-related risks.
  • Stay informed about industry trends and regulatory changes to proactively manage potential impacts.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field; CPA or equivalent certification preferred.
  • 5+ years of experience in tax accounting, preferably in a public accounting firm.
  • In-depth knowledge of federal, state, and local tax laws and regulations.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Proficient in Lacerte and Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
