Job Summary: The Interior Design Consultant is responsible for providing clients with custom window treatments, blinds, shades, and interior design services. They will work closely with the Operations staff to ensure excellent customer service throughout the entire sales process. Key responsibilities include educating clients about products, recommending suitable options, generating quotes, obtaining deposits, and overseeing the project until completion. The Design Consultant will also assist with floor duty, greet clients, address concerns, and maintain a positive and professional attitude.
General Responsibilities:
- Educate clients about all products offered, including stock and custom window fashions, blinds, shades, and shutter options.
- Participate in marketing and training programs and utilize POS computer systems and technology.
- Effectively demonstrate samples and products to clients in-store and during home appointments.
- Generate quotes in an efficient and timely manner.
- Obtain a 50% deposit before placing an order.
- Offer measurement and installation services for drapery products and blinds/shutters.
- Ensure clients have a total understanding of their purchase and provide ongoing communication until the project is completed.
- Oversee mis-measures, defective products, and product re-orders, and maintain communication with clients and Operations.
- Follow up on pending sales and provide excellent customer service post-sale.
- Greet and assist clients as they enter the store and refer them to the appropriate team member as needed.
- Write "Thank You" notes to purchasing customers.
- Return phone calls within one business day.
Job Qualifications:
- Education: High school diploma or GED required; Associates or Bachelor's Degree preferred.
- Sales and design experience preferred.
- Hunter Douglas experience is a plus.
- Full-time position: 36-40+ hours per week.
- Store hours: Monday-Friday 11am-6pm and Saturday 11am-5pm.
