Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Programs Manager II to join our team at General Dynamics - Ordnance and Tactical Systems (WA). As a Programs Manager II, you will be responsible for planning, monitoring, and managing internal programs from initiation through completion. You will lead or coordinate programs, resourcing, staffing, progress reporting, troubleshooting, and indirect people management.

Key Responsibilities
  • Implement and administer corporate programs, typically consisting of multiple programs or sub-programs.
  • Execute programs that meet the needs of the organization or its employees or customers.
  • Participate in all aspects of corporate programs, including planning, budgeting, staffing, and performance.
  • Promote the program throughout the organization and track utilization.
  • Supervise the work of program or project staff to ensure that work is completed on time or in accordance with established standards or specifications.
  • Evaluate program effectiveness by collecting and analyzing data in support of key performance metrics.
  • Ensure that activities are in compliance with organizational policies and any relevant external regulations.
  • Provide reports and updates to senior management or other stakeholders.
Requirements
  • Associate's Degree or equivalent combination of relevant education and/or experience.
  • 2-4 years of experience relevant to the position's functional area.
  • Strong computer skills, administrative data control, scheduling, and team interface.
  • Strong written, digital, and verbal communication skills in both an individual and team environment.
  • Ability to possess strong planning, execution, and multitasking skills and have demonstrated ability to reprioritize on the fly.
  • Ability to manage quickly changing priorities while meeting deadlines.
  • Works within the highest level of integrity, ethics, and safety.
  • Operates under minimal direction and exercises moderate to independent judgment.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Bachelor's Degree in Business, Engineering, or related field.
  • Experience leading technical projects for DoD customers in a matrixed organization.
  • Experience leading new product development programs from the conceptual design phase through qualification and low-rate initial production.
  • Project Management Professional (PMP) certification.
  • Familiar with Integrated Product Development methods and product life cycles.
