Position: Construction Planner I

Responsibilities:

  • Coordinate and oversee the construction, maintenance, and repair of Hybrid Fiber Coax (HFC) networks to provide voice, video, and data services to residential and commercial customers.
  • Perform field engineering to determine the most cost-effective design for construction projects, including alternative routing and coordination with other utilities for permits.
  • Coordinate all customer implementation activities, such as site walk-throughs, node placements, and subcontract labor.
  • Manage contractor work, obtain permits, access, or Right-of-Way (ROW) agreements, and approve design or construction changes.
  • Estimate construction costs, prepare budgets, track expenses, and participate in managing revenue forecasts and material planning.
  • Maintain workflow databases, update schedules, and close tasks upon project completion, including reconciliation of assets and generation of reports.
  • Coordinate with public works personnel, developers, commercial customers, building owners, and utilities on joint trench projects.
  • Verify serviceability, survey proposed service routing, and estimate material, construction, and labor costs.
  • Conduct inspections or coordinate inspection assignments to ensure compliance with standards and specifications.
  • Handle administrative tasks such as ordering materials and verifying invoices.
  • Plan and allocate fibers for splicing and activation as required.

Requirements:

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • 0-2 years of relevant work experience.
  • Ability to perform assigned tasks with minimal supervision.
  • Strong communication and organizational skills.
  • Basic understanding of construction processes and procedures.

This role is crucial for ensuring the efficient planning, execution, and management of construction projects related to HFC networks, ultimately delivering high-quality services to customers within budget and schedule constraints.
