Job Description: We seek a detail-oriented and experienced Business Tax Return Preparer to join our dynamic team. This is currently a part-time position with about 20-25 hours per week, with the ability to grow into full-time. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in preparing Partnership and Corporate tax returns and a deep understanding of federal, state, and local tax regulations. As a key member of our firm, you will play a vital role in ensuring our client's tax compliance and optimizing their tax positions.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Preparation of Tax Returns: Prepare and review federal and state tax returns for various business entities, including partnerships (Form 1065) and corporations (Form 1120 and 1120-S).

  • Tax Planning & Advisory: Provide clients with tax planning and advisory services, identifying tax savings opportunities and ensuring compliance with current tax laws.

  • Client Communication: Regularly communicate with clients to gather necessary information, provide updates, and answer tax-related questions.

  • Research & Compliance: Stay updated on changes to tax laws and regulations and conduct research as needed to ensure accurate and compliant tax filings.

  • Record Keeping: Maintain organized and accurate records of client tax documents, communications, and filings.

  • Collaboration: Work closely with other team members to ensure seamless service delivery and contribute to a collaborative team environment.

Qualifications:

  • Experience: Minimum of 3 years of experience in tax preparation, focusing on business tax returns (Partnerships and Corporations).

  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field. CPA or EA certification is a plus.

  • Technical Skills: Proficiency in tax preparation software and accounting software. Strong Excel skills are essential.

  • Attention to Detail: High accuracy and attention to detail in preparing tax returns and handling financial information.

  • Communication: Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to explain complex tax concepts to clients.

  • Problem-Solving: Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to think critically and provide solutions.

  • Time Management: Ability to manage multiple clients and deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
