Job Overview

Position Summary: We are seeking a meticulous and knowledgeable Corporate Tax Specialist to become a vital part of our dedicated team. This role is currently part-time, requiring approximately 20-25 hours per week, with potential for full-time growth. The ideal candidate will possess extensive experience in preparing tax returns for partnerships and corporations, along with a comprehensive understanding of federal, state, and local tax laws. As an essential member of our firm, you will contribute significantly to ensuring our clients' tax compliance and enhancing their tax strategies.

Key Duties:

  • Tax Return Preparation: Prepare and review federal and state tax returns for various business entities, including partnerships (Form 1065) and corporations (Form 1120 and 1120-S).
  • Tax Strategy & Consultation: Offer clients tax strategy and consultation services, identifying opportunities for tax savings while ensuring adherence to current tax regulations.
  • Client Engagement: Maintain regular communication with clients to collect necessary information, provide updates, and address tax-related inquiries.
  • Research & Compliance: Stay informed about changes in tax laws and regulations, conducting necessary research to guarantee accurate and compliant tax filings.
  • Documentation Management: Keep organized and precise records of client tax documents, communications, and filings.
  • Team Collaboration: Collaborate closely with other team members to ensure efficient service delivery and foster a cooperative team environment.

Qualifications:

  • Experience: At least 3 years of experience in tax preparation, with a focus on business tax returns (Partnerships and Corporations).
  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field. CPA or EA certification is advantageous.
  • Technical Proficiency: Skilled in tax preparation software and accounting tools. Strong Excel capabilities are essential.
  • Detail Orientation: High level of accuracy and attention to detail in preparing tax returns and managing financial data.
  • Communication Skills: Excellent verbal and written communication abilities, capable of explaining complex tax concepts to clients.
  • Analytical Skills: Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to think critically and provide effective solutions.
  • Time Management: Proficient in managing multiple clients and deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
