Nelson Container is a privately held company founded in the spring of 1962. The company fills a need for a high quality, full service, box manufacturer, handling custom orders and specialty items. This is the market we serve. We are looking for a Foam Cell Lead to join our team.


Position Summary
This position is responsible for leading the assembly work cell to support the efficient production of Nelson Container products. This position is accountable for providing leadership to ensure that all safety rules, quality initiatives, production procedures and training activities are consistent with company goals and objectives.


Areas of Responsibility

1. Lead and direct the assembly area and personnel to meet the Finished Goods schedule.

2. Manage workflow in the area, including prioritizing jobs, and maintain the inventory.

3. Be a champion of change where process improvement is concerned and share that with the team.

4. Be a hands-on leader. Perform duties of all work cell positions as necessary.

5. Communicate cell capabilities regarding daily production and/or new product development.

6. Provide a communication conduit between employees and management to ensure that problems are handled in a timely manner.

7. Train employees on all aspects of production.

8. Ensure that work is performed safely and that the Production Manager is made aware of any potential safety hazard.

9. Additional duties as assigned.

 

Skills & Abilities

· Ability to demonstrate basic math and measurement skills.

· Need to have a Valid Driver’s License

· Must be computer literate and have the ability to use Microsoft Products

 

Education & Experience

· High School Diploma required

· Minimum of one year related manufacturing experience
