Job Overview: We are seeking an experienced and skilled Commercial Plumber to join our team for ground-up multifamily construction projects in the Coos Bay area. This full-time position involves both hands-on plumbing work and overseeing a team of journeyman plumbers to ensure the successful completion of all plumbing aspects of our construction projects. The ideal candidate will have extensive knowledge of plumbing systems, experience in commercial construction, and strong leadership abilities.
Key Responsibilities:
- Perform hands-on plumbing installations, maintenance, and repairs for ground-up multifamily construction projects.
- Oversee and manage a team of journeyman plumbers and apprentices, ensuring all work is completed to high standards and complies with local and national plumbing codes.
- Plan, schedule, and coordinate all plumbing work with other construction teams and subcontractors to ensure timely project completion.
- Interpret and follow blueprints, technical drawings, and specifications to determine the layout of plumbing systems.
- Conduct regular inspections of plumbing systems and installations to identify and address any issues promptly.
- Ensure compliance with safety protocols and procedures, promoting a safe working environment.
- Maintain accurate records of plumbing work, including materials used and time spent on tasks.
- Provide technical guidance and training to journeyman plumbers and apprentices as needed.
- Stay current with industry trends, technological advancements, and changes in plumbing codes and regulations.
Qualifications:
- Valid Oregon Journeyman Plumber license.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in commercial plumbing, with a focus on ground-up multifamily construction projects.
- Proven experience in leading and supervising a team of plumbers.
- Extensive knowledge of the National Plumbing Code (NPC) and Oregon state plumbing regulations.
- Strong problem-solving and troubleshooting skills.
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints, technical drawings, and plumbing schematics.
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
- Proficiency in using plumbing tools and equipment.
- Valid driver's license and reliable transportation.
- Ability to work independently and manage time effectively.
Physical Requirements:
- Ability to work in various environmental conditions, including exposure to weather elements and construction site hazards.
- Physical stamina to perform manual labor tasks, including lifting heavy objects, climbing ladders, and standing for extended periods.
