Job Summary:

We are seeking an experienced and hands on Controller to oversee all aspects of financial management within our organization. The Controller will be responsible for developing and maintaining financial policies, accounting operations, and ensuring the accuracy and integrity of financial information. This role is crucial in supporting the financial health and growth of our company.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Financial Management:

    • Perform all accounting operations, including accounts payable/receivable, payroll, general ledger, and financial reporting.
    • Develop and implement financial policies, procedures, and internal controls.
    • Manage cash flow, forecasting, and budgeting processes to ensure financial stability and growth.
    • Prepare and present financial statements, reports, and analysis to senior management and stakeholders.
    • Ensure compliance with all federal, state, and local regulations, including tax filings and audits.

  • Strategic Planning:

    • Collaborate with senior management to develop financial strategies and business plans.
    • Provide financial insights and recommendations to support business decisions and improve profitability.
    • Monitor and analyze financial performance, identifying trends and opportunities for cost savings and efficiency improvements.

  • Team Leadership:

    • Lead by influencing the organization by providing guidance and support for professional development.
    • Foster a collaborative and positive work environment, ensuring team members are aligned with company goals and values.

  • Risk Management:

    • Identify and mitigate financial risks, ensuring the company’s assets are protected.
    • Maintain and improve internal controls to safeguard financial data and prevent fraud.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in accounting or finance, with at least 2 years in a controller or similar role.
  • Experience in the commercial cleaning or service industry is a plus.
  • Strong knowledge of accounting principles, financial reporting, and tax regulations.
  • Proficient in accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks) and MS Office (especially Excel).
  • Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
  • Strong leadership abilities with experience influencing a team.
  • High level of integrity, attention to detail, and organizational skills.
